8f8be103fd s_client, s_server: do generic SSL configuration first, specialization after
We did the SSL_CONF_cmd() pass last of all things that could affect
the SSL ctx. However, the results of this, for example:

    -max_protocol TLSv1.3 -tls1_2

... would mean that the protocol min got set to TLSv1.2 and the
protocol max to TLSv1.3, when they should clearly both be TLSv1.2.

However, if we see the SSL_CONF_cmd() switches as generic and those
internal to s_client and s_server as specialisations, we get something
that makes a little more sense.

6e99ae58c8 Ignore an s_client psk in TLSv1.3 if not TLSv1.3 suitable
The s_client psk_use_session_cb callback has a comment stating that we
should ignore a key that isn't suitable for TLSv1.3. However we were
actually causing the connection to fail. Changing the return value fixes
the issue.

Also related to this is that the early_data extension was not marked as
TLSv1.3 only which it should be.

9d75dce3e1 Add TLSv1.3 post-handshake authentication (PHA)
Add SSL_verify_client_post_handshake() for servers to initiate PHA

Add SSL_force_post_handshake_auth() for clients that don't have certificates
initially configured, but use a certificate callback.

Update SSL_CTX_set_verify()/SSL_set_verify() mode:

* Add SSL_VERIFY_POST_HANDSHAKE to postpone client authentication until after
the initial handshake.

* Update SSL_VERIFY_CLIENT_ONCE now only sends out one CertRequest regardless
of when the certificate authentication takes place; either initial handshake,
re-negotiation, or post-handshake authentication.

Add 'RequestPostHandshake' and 'RequirePostHandshake' SSL_CONF options that
add the SSL_VERIFY_POST_HANDSHAKE to the 'Request' and 'Require' options

Add support to s_client:
* Enabled automatically when cert is configured
* Can be forced enabled via -force_pha

Add support to s_server:
* Use 'c' to invoke PHA in s_server
* Remove some dead code

Update documentation

Update unit tests:
* Illegal use of PHA extension
* TLSv1.3 certificate tests

DTLS and TLS behave ever-so-slightly differently. So, when DTLS1.3 is
implemented, it's PHA support state machine may need to be different.
Add a TODO and a #error

Update handshake context to deal with PHA.

The handshake context for TLSv1.3 post-handshake auth is up through the
ClientFinish message, plus the CertificateRequest message. Subsequent
Certificate, CertificateVerify, and Finish messages are based on this
handshake context (not the Certificate message per se, but it's included
after the hash). KeyUpdate, NewSessionTicket, and prior Certificate
Request messages are not included in post-handshake authentication.

After the ClientFinished message is processed, save off the digest state
for future post-handshake authentication. When post-handshake auth occurs,
copy over the saved handshake context into the "main" handshake digest.
This effectively discards the any KeyUpdate or NewSessionTicket messages
and any prior post-handshake authentication.

This, of course, assumes that the ID-22 did not mean to include any
previous post-handshake authentication into the new handshake transcript.
This is implied by section 4.4.1 that lists messages only up to the
first ClientFinished.

b510b740fb Ignore the session when setting SNI in s_client
As per this comment:

https://github.com/openssl/openssl/issues/4496#issuecomment-337767145

Since the server is entitled to reject our session our ClientHello
should include everything that we would want if a full handshake were
to happen. Therefore we shouldn't use the session as a source of
information for setting SNI.

3ee1eac27a Standardize apps use of -rand, etc.
Standardized the -rand flag and added a new one:
    -rand file...
            Always reads the specified files
    -writerand file
Always writes to the file on exit

For apps that use a config file, the RANDFILE config parameter reads
the file at startup (to seed the RNG) and write to it on exit if
the -writerand flag isn't used.

Ensured that every app that took -rand also took -writerand, and
made sure all of that agreed with all the documentation.

8530039a30 Fix double array increment in s_client mysql connect
The packet parsing code for the server version string was incrementing
the array index twice on every iteration. This meant that strings with
an even number of characters would pass, but strings with an odd number
(ex: 5.7.18-0ubuntu0.16.04.1) would cause the pos variable to get out
of sync.

This would cause a later failure with "MySQL packet is broken."

729ef85611 s_client accepts host/port as positional argument.
This allows the user to provide the target host and optional port to
openssl s_client as an optional positional argument, rather than as the
argument to the -connect flag. This rationalises the user experience of
s_client: given that the only logical purpose of s_client is to connect
to a host, it is difficult to understand why there is an (effectively
mandatory) command option to pass to make that happen.

This patch forbids providing *both* -connect and the positional
argument, because it would likely be too difficult to reconcile.
Otherwise, using the positional argument behaves exactly the same as
using -connect does.

12557a3445 Fix s_client early data indicator
s_client was always saying that early_data was rejected even when it was
accepted. This was because it was using the wrong test to detect the end
of the handshake. It was using SSL_in_init() which only tells you whether
it is currently processing/sending/expecting handshake messages. It should
use SSL_is_init_finished() which tells you that no handshake messages are
being processed/sent/expected AND we have completed the handshake. In the
early data case we are not processing/sending handshake messages and we
are expecting early data (not a handshake message) - but the handshake has
not yet completed.

cb2e10f257 Fix intermittent windows failures in TLSProxy tests
When closing down the socket in s_client Windows will close it immediately
even if there is data in the write buffer still waiting to be sent. This
was causing tests to fail in Msys/Mingw builds because TLSProxy doesn't see
the final CloseNotify.

I have experimented with various ways of doing this "properly" (e.g.
shutting down the socket before closing, setting SO_LINGER etc). I can't
seem to find the "magic" formula that will make Windows do this. Inserting
a short 50ms sleep seems to do the trick...but its not very "nice" so I've
inserted a TODO on this item. Perhaps someone else will have better luck
in figuring this out.

75dd6c1a39 Fix s_client/s_server waiting for stdin on Windows
On Windows we were using the function _kbhit() to determine whether there
was input waiting in stdin for us to read. Actually all this does is work
out whether there is a keyboard press event waiting to be processed in the
input buffer. This only seems to work in a standard Windows console (not
Msys console) and also doesn't work if you redirect the input from some
other source (as we do in TLSProxy tests). This commit changes things to
work differently depending on whether we are on the Windows console or not.

43341433a8 Suppress CT callback as appropriate
Suppress CT callbacks with aNULL or PSK ciphersuites that involve
no certificates. Ditto when the certificate chain is validated via
DANE-TA(2) or DANE-EE(3) TLSA records. Also skip SCT processing
when the chain is fails verification.

Move and consolidate CT callbacks from libcrypto to libssl. We
also simplify the interface to SSL_{,CTX_}_enable_ct() which can
specify either a permissive mode that just collects information or
a strict mode that requires at least one valid SCT or else asks to
abort the connection.

Simplified SCT processing and options in s_client(1) which now has
just a simple pair of "-noct" vs. "-ct" options, the latter enables
the permissive callback so that we can complete the handshake and
report all relevant information. When printing SCTs, print the
validation status if set and not valid.

fd068d50c4 Ensure s_client and s_server work when read_ahead is set
Previously s_client and s_server relied on using SSL_pending() which does
not take into account read_ahead. For read pipelining to work, read_ahead
gets set automatically. Therefore s_client and s_server have been
converted to use SSL_has_pending() instead.
