081d08fa58 Increase OSSL_PARAM_BLD_MAX for multi-prime RSA
The old value of 10 for OSSL_PARAM_BLD_MAX is insufficient for multi-prime
RSA. That code has this assert:

        if (!ossl_assert(/* n, e */ 2 + /* d */ 1 + /* numprimes */ 1
                         + numprimes + numexps + numcoeffs
                         <= OSSL_PARAM_BLD_MAX))
            goto err;

So we increase OSSL_PARAM_BLD_MAX which would be enough for 7 primes
(more than you would ever reasonably want).

c3a4fa4cb8 Added internal functions for easy getting and setting all RSA parameters.
rsa_set0_all_params() is used to set all the primes, exponents and
coefficients. rsa_get0_all_params() is used to get all the primes,
exponents and coefficients.

"All" includes p, q, dP, dQ and qInv without making them separate.

All arrays of numbers are implemented as stacks to make dynamic use
easier.

ae4186b004 Fix header file include guard names
Make the include guards consistent by renaming them systematically according
to the naming conventions below

For the public header files (in the 'include/openssl' directory), the guard
names try to match the path specified in the include directives, with
all letters converted to upper case and '/' and '.' replaced by '_'. For the
private header files files, an extra 'OSSL_' is added as prefix.

706457b7bd Reorganize local header files
Apart from public and internal header files, there is a third type called
local header files, which are located next to source files in the source
directory. Currently, they have different suffixes like

  '*_lcl.h', '*_local.h', or '*_int.h'

This commit changes the different suffixes to '*_local.h' uniformly.

25f2138b0a Reorganize private crypto header files
Currently, there are two different directories which contain internal
header files of libcrypto which are meant to be shared internally:

While header files in 'include/internal' are intended to be shared
between libcrypto and libssl, the files in 'crypto/include/internal'
are intended to be shared inside libcrypto only.

To make things complicated, the include search path is set up in such
a way that the directive #include "internal/file.h" could refer to
a file in either of these two directoroes. This makes it necessary
in some cases to add a '_int.h' suffix to some files to resolve this
ambiguity:

  #include "internal/file.h"      # located in 'include/internal'
  #include "internal/file_int.h"  # located in 'crypto/include/internal'

This commit moves the private crypto headers from

  'crypto/include/internal'  to  'include/crypto'

As a result, the include directives become unambiguous

  #include "internal/file.h"       # located in 'include/internal'
  #include "crypto/file.h"         # located in 'include/crypto'

hence the superfluous '_int.h' suffixes can be stripped.

The files 'store_int.h' and 'store.h' need to be treated specially;
they are joined into a single file.

0cd1b144f9 util/mkerr.pl: make it not depend on the function code
The output C code was made to use ERR_func_error_string() to see if a
string table was already loaded or not. Since this function returns
NULL always, this check became useless.

Change it to use ERR_reason_error_string() instead, as there's no
reason to believe we will get rid of reason strings, ever.

To top it off, we rebuild all affected C sources.

an incorrect sig alg might be selected in the event that a server is

fcd2d5a612 Refactor the computation of API version limits
Previously, the API version limit was indicated with a numeric version
number. This was "natural" in the pre-3.0.0 because the version was
this simple number.

With 3.0.0, the version is divided into three separate numbers, and
it's only the major number that counts, but we still need to be able
to support pre-3.0.0 version limits.

Therefore, we allow OPENSSL_API_COMPAT to be defined with a pre-3.0.0
style numeric version number or with a simple major number, i.e. can
be defined like this for any application:

    -D OPENSSL_API_COMPAT=0x10100000L
    -D OPENSSL_API_COMPAT=3

Since the pre-3.0.0 numerical version numbers are high, it's easy to
distinguish between a simple major number and a pre-3.0.0 numerical
version number and to thereby support both forms at the same time.

Internally, we define the following macros depending on the value of
OPENSSL_API_COMPAT:

    OPENSSL_API_0_9_8
    OPENSSL_API_1_0_0
    OPENSSL_API_1_1_0
    OPENSSL_API_3

They indicate that functions marked for deprecation in the
corresponding major release shall not be built if defined.

NIST has updated their guidelines in appendix D of SP 800-56B rev2 (draft)

This is an implementation of this formula using fixed point arithmetic.
For integers 1 .. 100,000 it rounds down to the next smaller 8 bit strength
270 times. It never errs to the high side. None of the rounded values occur
near any of the commonly selected lengths.

0c5d725ebf Fix segfault in RSA_free() (and DSA/DH/EC_KEY)
`RSA_free()` and friends are called in case of error from
`RSA_new_method(ENGINE *e)` (or the respective equivalent functions).

For the rest of the description I'll talk about `RSA_*`, but the same
applies for the equivalent `DSA_free()`, `DH_free()`, `EC_KEY_free()`.

If `RSA_new_method()` fails because the engine does not implement the
required method, when `RSA_free(RSA *r)` is called,
`r->meth == NULL` and a segfault happens while checking if
`r->meth->finish` is defined.

This commit fixes this issue by ensuring that `r->meth` is not NULL
before dereferencing it to check for `r->meth->finish`.

Fixes #7102 .

cac19d19e7 rsa: Do not allow less than 512 bit RSA keys
As per documentation, the RSA keys should not be smaller than 64bit (the
documentation mentions something about a quirk in the prime generation
algorithm). I am adding check into the code which used to be 16 for some
reason.
My primary motivation is to get rid of the last sentence in the
documentation which suggest that typical keys have 1024 bits (instead
updating it to the now default 2048).
I *assume* that keys less than the 2048 bits (say 512) are used for
education purposes.
The 512 bits as the minimum have been suggested by Bernd Edlinger.

Multi-prime RSA security is not determined by modulus length alone, but

75e2c87765 Switch from ossl_rand to DRBG rand
If RAND_add wraps around, XOR with existing. Add test to drbgtest that
does the wrap-around.

Re-order seeding and stop after first success.

Add RAND_poll_ex()

Use the DF and therefore lower RANDOMNESS_NEEDED. Also, for child DRBG's,
mix in the address as the personalization bits.

Centralize the entropy callbacks, from drbg_lib to rand_lib.
(Conceptually, entropy is part of the enclosing application.)
Thanks to Dr. Matthias St Pierre for the suggestion.

Various code cleanups:
    -Make state an enum; inline RANDerr calls.
    -Add RAND_POLL_RETRIES (thanks Pauli for the idea)
    -Remove most RAND_seed calls from rest of library
    -Rename DRBG_CTX to RAND_DRBG, etc.
    -Move some code from drbg_lib to drbg_rand; drbg_lib is now only the
     implementation of NIST DRBG.
    -Remove blocklength

608a026494 Implement RSASSA-PKCS1-v1_5 as specified.
RFC 3447, section 8.2.2, steps 3 and 4 states that verifiers must encode
the DigestInfo struct and then compare the result against the public key
operation result. This implies that one and only one encoding is legal.

OpenSSL instead parses with crypto/asn1, then checks that the encoding
round-trips, and allows some variations for the parameter. Sufficient
laxness in this area can allow signature forgeries, as described in
https://www.imperialviolet.org/2014/09/26/pkcs1.html

Although there aren't known attacks against OpenSSL's current scheme,
this change makes OpenSSL implement the algorithm as specified. This
avoids the uncertainty and, more importantly, helps grow a healthy
ecosystem. Laxness beyond the spec, particularly in implementations
which enjoy wide use, risks harm to the ecosystem for all. A signature
producer which only tests against OpenSSL may not notice bugs and
accidentally become widely deployed. Thus implementations have a
responsibility to honor the specification as tightly as is practical.

In some cases, the damage is permanent and the spec deviation and
security risk becomes a tax all implementors must forever pay, but not
here. Both BoringSSL and Go successfully implemented and deployed
RSASSA-PKCS1-v1_5 as specified since their respective beginnings, so
this change should be compatible enough to pin down in future OpenSSL
releases.

As a bonus, by not having to deal with sign/verify differences, this
version is also somewhat clearer. It also more consistently enforces
digest lengths in the verify_recover codepath. The NID_md5_sha1 codepath
wasn't quite doing this right.
