TTY_get() sometimes surprises us with new errno values to determine if
we have a controling terminal or not. This generated error is a
helpful tool to figure out that this was what happened and what the
unknown value is.

Since there are many parts of UI_process() that can go wrong, it isn't
very helpful to only return -1 with no further explanation. With this
change, the error message will at least show which part went wrong.

This was done by the following
find . -name '*.[ch]' | /tmp/pl
where /tmp/pl is the following three-line script:
print unless $. == 1 && m@/\* .*\.[ch] \*/@;
close ARGV if eof; # Close file to reset $.
And then some hand-editing of other files.

pick up and translate static function names properly.

like des_read_password and friends (backward compatibility functions
using this new API are provided). The purpose is to remove prompting
functions from the DES code section as well as provide for prompting
through dialog boxes in a window system and the like.
