Elena Pourmal 70daa61a87 [svn-r24967] Maintenance: Reorganized and cleaned the code to remove compiler warnings in the Fortran test code
and examples.

Platforms tested: Manual testing in place and using srcdir on jam, platypus, and emu with default and
PGI, Intel and new GNU compilers. ifort compiler was also tested with -i8 and -r8 flags
on jam. CMake tested on jam.

! The following example shows how to write and read to/from an existing dataset.
! It opens the file created in the previous example, obtains the dataset
! identifier, writes the data to the dataset in the file,
! then reads the dataset to memory. Uses updated Fortran 2003 interface
! with different KINDs of integers and reals.
