coff: free malloc'd memory on successful target match too
...
object_p functions cannot allocate memory by malloc and not free it
before returning. Even a successful target match may not be the best
match. If a match isn't used then those malloc'd blocks won't be
freed.

PR25197, assertion fail coffgen.c

The testcase in this PR triggered "BFD_ASSERT (p2->is_sym)" by
sneakily generating a C_FILE sym whose value pointed into auxents.
The fix then is in the last changed line of this patch, to check
p->is_sym as well as p->u.syment.n_sclass. The other changes fix
various overflow checks that weren't as solid as they could be.

* coffgen.c (coff_find_nearest_line_with_names): Check that C_FILE
u.syment.n_value does point at another C_FILE sym and not into
some auxent that happens to look like a C_FILE. Properly check
for integer overflow and avoid possible pointer wrap-around.
Simplify pr17512 checks.

bfd_section_* macros
...
This large patch removes the unnecessary bfd parameter from various
bfd section macros and functions. The bfd is hardly ever used and if
needed for the bfd_set_section_* or bfd_rename_section functions can
be found via section->owner except for the com, und, abs, and ind
std_section special sections. Those sections shouldn't be modified
anyway.
The patch also removes various bfd_get_section_<field> macros,
replacing their use with bfd_section_<field>, and adds
bfd_set_section_lma. I've also fixed a minor bug in gas where
compressed section renaming was done directly rather than calling
bfd_rename_section. This would have broken bfd_get_section_by_name
and similar functions, but that hardly mattered at such a late stage
in gas processing.

as undefined so that LTO plugin will make IR definition available.

Don't use bfd_get_file_size in objdump
...
Compressed debug sections can have uncompressed sizes that exceed the
original file size, so we can't use bfd_get_file_size. objdump also
used bfd_get_file_size to limit reloc section size, but I believe the
underlying bug causing the PR22508 out of bounds buffer access was
that we had an integer overflow when calculating the reloc buffer
size. I've fixed that instead in most of the backends, som and
vms-alpha being the exceptions. SOM and vmd-alpha have rather more
serious bugs in their slurp_relocs routines that would need fixing
first if we want to fuss about making them safe against fuzzed object
files.
The patch also fixes a number of other potential overflows by using
the bfd_alloc2/malloc2/zalloc2 memory allocation functions.

Make bfd_error_handler_type like vprintf

It was like printf, which means you can't use bfd_set_error_handler to
hook in a function to do something and then call the original handler.
The patch also deletes some unused functions and makes pointers local.

bfd: don't produce corrupt COFF symbol table due to long ELF file name symbols

The re-writing logic in _bfd_coff_final_link() overwrote the ".file"
part of the symbol table entry, due to not coping with the auxiliary
entry generated in all cases.
Note that while I would have wanted to add a test case,
(a) I didn't spot any one testing the base functionality here, and
(b) I wasn't able to figure out proper conditionals to use in e.g.
ld-elf/elf.exp to check for the necessary PE/PE+ support (which
varies by target).

The "shared" field in bfd_link_info is set for both DSO and and PIE.
There are separate fields for executable and relocatable outputs. This
patch adds an "output_type" field:

and a "pic" field to bfd_link_info to replace shared, executable and
relocatable fields so that we can use the "output_type" field to check

AOUT. Split off the bits we need externally when not building a COFF
