Convert wrap_here to use integer parameter
I think it only really makes sense to call wrap_here with an argument consisting solely of spaces. Given this, it seemed better to me that the argument be an int, rather than a string. This patch is the result. Much of it was written by a script. |

Rewrite GNAT-encoded fixed point types in DWARF reader
gdb currently supports two different styles of fixed-point. The original style, where fixed point types are "GNAT encoded", is handled primarily in the Ada code. The newer style, encoded using DWARF, is handled by the core of gdb. This patch changes gdb to read the GNAT encodings in the DWARF reader as well. This removes some code and unifies the two paths. As a result, GNAT-encoded fixed-point now works a bit better. One possible drawback of this change is that, if someone uses stabs, then fixed-point might now stop working. I consider stabs to be fully obsolete, though, so I don't intend to address this. gdb/ChangeLog 2021-03-02 Tom Tromey <tromey@adacore.com> * ada-lang.c (cast_from_gnat_encoded_fixed_point_type) (cast_to_gnat_encoded_fixed_point_type): Remove. Add ptype support for DWARF-based fixed-point types
Note that the ptype information printed for types described via pure DWARF debug info is slightly less informative as the one printed when the information is encoded in the type's name, via the GNAT encoding. As a result, the output in the case of DWARF-described fixed point types is slightly different. In pratice, this is no real loss because the information not available in DWARF has no bearing on how the type is actually stored in memory. gdb/ChangeLog: * ada-typeprint.c (ada_print_type): Add handing of fixed-point range types. * c-typeprint.c (c_type_print_varspec_prefix) (c_type_print_varspec_suffix, c_type_print_base_1): Add TYPE_CODE_FIXED_POINT handling. * p-typeprint.c (pascal_type_print_varspec_prefix) (pascal_type_print_varspec_suffix): Likewise. * typeprint.c (print_type_fixed_point): New function. * typeprint.h (print_type_fixed_point): Add declaration. gdb/testsuite/ChangeLog: * gdb.ada/fixed_points.exp: Add ptype tests. * gdb.dwarf2/dw2-fixed-point.exp: Likewise. |

Handle __XVL fields in Ada type printing
Sometimes the Ada compiler will emit an "__XVL" name for a field. The Ada compiler describes: -- Second, the variable-length fields themselves are represented by -- replacing the type by a special access type. The designated type of -- this access type is the original variable-length type, and the fact -- that this field has been transformed in this way is signalled by -- encoding the field name as: -- field___XVL Currently gdb describes such fields as having "access" type, but this is inaccurate. This patch changes gdb to avoid printing "access" in this case. gdb/ChangeLog 2020-11-04 Tom Tromey <tromey@adacore.com> * ada-typeprint.c (ada_print_type): Handle __XVL fields. gdb/testsuite/ChangeLog 2020-11-04 Tom Tromey <tromey@adacore.com> * gdb.ada/funcall_ref.exp: Update. * gdb.ada/var_rec_arr.exp: Update. |

Print Ada type name in more cases
In some cases the name of an Ada type cannot be decoded by decoded_type_name. For example, the name "p__complex_variable_record_type__T9s" in the included test case is rejected due to the "T". This causes ptype to display the full contents of a record type -- when in fact the name is available and ought to be printed. Fixing this in decoded_type_name isn't possible because the "__T" name is not the real name of the type -- it is just a compiler-assigned name of convenience. This patch fixes the problem by using the resolved type's name when the original type's name isn't suitable. gdb/ChangeLog 2020-11-04 Tom Tromey <tromey@adacore.com> * ada-typeprint.c (ada_print_type): Handle __T types. gdb/testsuite/ChangeLog 2020-11-04 Tom Tromey <tromey@adacore.com> * gdb.ada/rec_ptype.exp: New file. * gdb.ada/rec_ptype/main.adb: New file. * gdb.ada/rec_ptype/p.ads: New file. |

gdb, gdbserver, gdbsupport: fix leading space vs tabs issues
Many spots incorrectly use only spaces for indentation (for example, there are a lot of spots in ada-lang.c). I've always found it awkward when I needed to edit one of these spots: do I keep the original wrong indentation, or do I fix it? What if the lines around it are also wrong, do I fix them too? I probably don't want to fix them in the same patch, to avoid adding noise to my patch. So I propose to fix as much as possible once and for all (hopefully). One typical counter argument for this is that it makes code archeology more difficult, because git-blame will show this commit as the last change for these lines. My counter counter argument is: when git-blaming, you often need to do "blame the file at the parent commit" anyway, to go past some other refactor that touched the line you are interested in, but is not the change you are looking for. So you already need a somewhat efficient way to do this. Using some interactive tool, rather than plain git-blame, makes this trivial. For example, I use "tig blame <file>", where going back past the commit that changed the currently selected line is one keystroke. It looks like Magit in Emacs does it too (though I've never used it). Web viewers of Github and Gitlab do it too. My point is that it won't really make archeology more difficult. The other typical counter argument is that it will cause conflicts with existing patches. That's true... but it's a one time cost, and those are not conflicts that are difficult to resolve. I have also tried "git rebase --ignore-whitespace", it seems to work well. Although that will re-introduce the faulty indentation, so one needs to take care of fixing the indentation in the patch after that (which is easy). gdb/ChangeLog: * aarch64-linux-tdep.c: Fix ada-lang.c: Renaming some fixed-point-related routines
This patch renames some of the fixed-point-related subprograms in ada-lang.c so as to make it obvious that those routines only handle the case where the types are encoded using the GNAT encoding. No function change; this patch is preparation work for adding support for fixed-point types purely based on standard DWARF debug info. gdb/ChangeLog: * ada-lang.c (cast_from_gnat_encoded_fixed_point_type): Renames cast_from_fixed. gdb: add accessors to struct dynamic_prop
Add setters, to ensure that the kind and value of the property are always kept in sync (a caller can't forget one or the other). Add getters, such that we can assert that when a caller accesses a data bit of the property, the property is indeed of the corresponding kind. Note that because of the way `struct dynamic_prop` is allocated currently, we can't make the `m_kind` and `m_data` fields private. That would make the type non-default-constructible, and we would have to call the constructor when allocating them. However, I still prefixed them with `m_` to indicate that they should not be accessed from outside the class (and also to be able to use the name `kind` for the method). gdb/ChangeLog: * gdbtypes.h (struct dynamic_prop) <kind, set_undefined, const_val, set_const_val, baton, set_locexpr, set_loclist, set_addr_offset, variant_parts, set_variant_parts, original_type, set_original_type>: New methods. <kind>: Rename to... <m_kind>: ... this. update name of several Ada fixed-point type handling functions
The purpose of this patch is to prepare for the future where fixed point types become described using standard DWARF info, rather than GNAT encodings. For that, we rename a number of routines manipulating Ada fixed point types to make it explicit from their new names that they rely on the GNAT encodings to work. This will allow us, when we introduce support for fixed point types from standard DWARF to use names that are not ambiguous with the functions that do similar work, but only for GNAT encodings. gdb/ChangeLog: * ada-lang.h: (ada_is_gnat_encoded_fixed_point_type): Renames ada_is_fixed_point_type. Style field names in "print"
This changes gdb to use the "variable" style when printing field names. I've added new tests for C and Rust, but not other languages. I chose "variable" because that seemed most straightforward. However, another option would be to introduce a new "field" style. Similarly, this patch uses the variable style for enumerator constants -- but again, a new style could be used if that's preferred. gdb/ChangeLog 2020-02-22 Tom Tromey <tom@tromey.com> * valprint.c (generic_val_print_enum_1) (val_print_type_code_flags): Style member names. * rust-lang.c (val_print_struct, rust_print_enum) (rust_print_struct_def, rust_internal_print_type): Style member names. * p-valprint.c (pascal_object_print_value_fields): Style member names. Normalize Ada ptype to use a single "?"
Sometimes -- notably with unchecked unions -- the Ada "ptype" code will print a "?" or "??" to indicate something unknown. The choice of what was printed was somewhat arbitrary, and in one case, Ada would print an empty string rather than "?". This patch normalizes the Ada code to use "?" rather than an empty string or "??". My reasoning here is that a single question mark is enough to convey unknown-ness. gdb/ChangeLog 2019-12-10 Tom Tromey <tromey@adacore.com> * ada-typeprint.c (print_choices): Use a single "?". When calling the language la_print_typedef method, don't include a newline at the end, instead print the newline from the users of la_print_typedef. Introduce metadata style
This introduces a new "metadata" style and changes many places in gdb to use it. The idea here is to let the user distinguish gdb output from output that (conceptually at least) comes directly from the inferior. The newly-styled category includes text that gdb traditionally surrounds in "<...>", like "<unavailable>". I only added a single test for this. In many cases this output is difficult to test. Allow really large fortran array bounds: TYPE_LENGTH to ULONGEST
This series is revisit of Siddhesh Poyarekar's patch from back in 2012. The last status on the patch is in the following gdb-patches thread: https://sourceware.org/ml/gdb-patches/2012-08/msg00562.html It appears that Tom approved the patch, but Jan had some issues with a compiler error that made the test fail on -m32 test runs. He wrote up a hand-tweaked .S file to deal with it. Siddesh said he would update tests. Then nothing. Siddesh and Jan have both moved on since. The patch originally required a large precursor patch to work. I have whittled this down to/rewritten the bare minimum, and this first patch is the result, changing the type of TYPE_LENGTH to ULONGEST from unsigned int. The majority of the changes involve changing printf format strings to use %s and pulongest instead of %d. gdb/ChangeLog: * ada-lang.c (ada_template_to_fixed_record_type_1): Use %s/pulongest for TYPE_LENGTH instead of %d in format strings. * ada-typerint.c (ada_print_type): Likewise. * amd64-windows-tdep.c (amd64_windows_store_arg_in_reg): Likewise. * compile/compile-c-support.c (generate_register_struct): Likewise. * gdbtypes.c (recursive_dump_type): Likewise. * gdbtypes.h (struct type) <length>: Change type to ULONGEST. * m2-typeprint.c (m2_array): Use %s/pulongest for TYPE_LENGTH instead of %d in format strings. * riscv-tdep.c (riscv_type_alignment): Cast second argument to std::min to ULONGEST. * symmisc.c (print_symbol): Use %s/pulongest for TYPE_LENGTH instead of %d in format strings. * tracepoint.c (info_scope_command): Likewise. * typeprint.c (print_offset_data::update) (print_offset_data::finish): Likewise. * xtensa-tdep.c (xtensa_store_return_value) (xtensa_push_dummy_call): Likewise. |

Use function_name_style to print Ada and C function names
Note that ada-typeprint.c print_func_type is called with types representing functions and is also called to print a function NAME together with its type. In such a case, the function name will be printed using function name style. Similarly, c_print_type_1 is called to print a type, optionally with the name of an object of this type in the VARSTRING arg. So, c_print_type_1 uses function name style to print varstring when the type code indicates that c_print_type_1 TYPE is some 'real code'. gdb/ChangeLog 2019-02-12 Philippe Waroquiers <philippe.waroquiers@skynet.be> * ada-typeprint.c (print_func_type): Print function name style to print function name. * c-typeprint.c (c_print_type_1): Likewise. |

Update copyright year range in all GDB files.
This commit applies all changes made after running the gdb/copyright.py script. Note that one file was flagged by the script, due to an invalid copyright header (gdb/unittests/basic_string_view/element_access/char/empty.cc). As the file was copied from GCC's libstdc++-v3 testsuite, this commit leaves this file untouched for the time being; a patch to fix the header was sent to gcc-patches first. gdb/ChangeLog: Update copyright year range in all GDB files. |

(Ada) slightly incorrect bounds for type of array indexed by enum
Consider the following code: type Enumerated is (Enum_A, Enum_B, Enum_C, Enum_Last); type Table is array (Enumerated) of Integer; -- Declare a variable of type Table to make sure the compiler -- does emit the debugging information for that type. V : Table := (others => 1); Trying to print the type description of type Table, or of variable V yields: (gdb) ptype v type = array (0 .. 3) of integer (gdb) ptype example.table type = array (0 .. 3) of integer The compiler generates an XA type for the bounds... <1><cf6>: Abbrev Number: 13 (DW_TAG_structure_type) <cf7> DW_AT_name : example__table___XA ... whose member is described as being as: <2><cfe>: Abbrev Number: 14 (DW_TAG_member) <cff> DW_AT_name : example__enumerated <d05> DW_AT_type : <0xc69> This leads us to DIE 0xc69, which is our enumeration type: <2><c69>: Abbrev Number: 4 (DW_TAG_enumeration_type) <c6a> DW_AT_name : example__enumerated Normally, for arrays, we expect a range type, rather than an enumerated type. However, for a situation like this, where the range of the array index is the full enumeration type, it seems like a waste to require an extra range layer. Instead, looking at print_range, we see that we print the bounds of our range using the target type: target_type = TYPE_TARGET_TYPE (type); if (target_type == NULL) target_type = type; [...] ada_print_scalar (target_type, lo, stream); fprintf_filtered (stream, " .. "); ada_print_scalar (target_type, hi, stream); In this case, this causes us to use the enumerated type's subtype, which is a plain integer type, hence the output we get. However, there is no reason for using the target type, even in the TYPE_CODE_RANGE situation. So this patch fixes the issue by simply printing the bounds using the type being given, instead of its target type. gdb/ChangeLog: * ada-typeprint.c (print_range): Print the bounds using TYPE rather than its TYPE_TARGET_TYPE. A new test for this isn't necessary, as existing tests will demonstrate this issue once a change in the compiler triggering the generation of this type of debugging info gets pushed. |

Target FP: Perform Ada fixed-point scaling in target format
One of the few still remaining uses of DOUBLEST in GDB is the Ada front-end code that handles scaling of Ada fixed-point types. The target format for those types is some integer format; to convert those values to standard floating-point representation, that integer needs to be multiplied by a rational scale factor, given as a pair of numerator and denominator. To avoid having to deal with long integer arithmetic, the current Ada front-end code currently performs those scaling operations in host DOUBLEST arithmetic. To eliminate this use of DOUBLEST, this patch changes the front-end to instead perform those operations in the *target* floating-point format (chosing to use the target "long double"). The implementation is mostly straight-forward, using value_cast and value_binop to perform the target operations. Scanning in the scale numerator and denominator is now done into a host "long long" instead of a DOUBLEST, which should be large enough to hold all possible values. (Otherwise, this can be replaced by target-format target_float_from_string operations as well.) Printing fixed-point types and values should be completely unchanges, using target_float_to_string with the same format strings as current code. gdb/ChangeLog: 2017-11-06 Ulrich Weigand <uweigand@de.ibm.com> * ada-lang.c (cast_to_fixed): Reimplement in target arithmetic. ada: Use std::string in print_dynamic_range_bound
Replace this usage of GROW_VECT with an std::string. I don't think there's a reason for this variable to be static, other than it was cumbersome to manage its lifetime (i.e. use a cleanup) before. Tested by comparing the gdb.ada/*.exp test results before and after the patch. gdb/ChangeLog: * ada-typeprint.c (print_dynamic_range_bound): Use std::string. |

Stop assuming no-debug-info functions return int
The fact that GDB defaults to assuming that functions return int, when it has no debug info for the function has been a recurring source of user confusion. Recently this came up on the errno pretty printer discussions. Shortly after, it came up again on IRC, with someone wondering why does getenv() in GDB return a negative int: (gdb) p getenv("PATH") $1 = -6185 This question (with s/getenv/random-other-C-runtime-function) is a FAQ on IRC. The reason for the above is: (gdb) p getenv $2 = {<text variable, no debug info>} 0x7ffff7751d80 <getenv> (gdb) ptype getenv type = int () ... which means that GDB truncated the 64-bit pointer that is actually returned from getent to 32-bit, and then sign-extended it: (gdb) p /x -6185 $6 = 0xffffe7d7 The workaround is to cast the function to the right type, like: (gdb) p ((char *(*) (const char *)) getenv) ("PATH") $3 = 0x7fffffffe7d7 "/usr/local/bin:/"... IMO, we should do better than this. I see the "assume-int" issue the same way I see printing bogus values for optimized-out variables instead of "<optimized out>" -- I'd much rather that the debugger tells me "I don't know" and tells me how to fix it than showing me bogus misleading results, making me go around tilting at windmills. If GDB prints a signed integer when you're expecting a pointer or aggregate, you at least have some sense that something is off, but consider the case of the function actually returning a 64-bit integer. For example, compile this without debug info: unsigned long long function () { return 0x7fffffffffffffff; } Currently, with pristine GDB, you get: (gdb) p function () $1 = -1 # incorrect (gdb) p /x function () $2 = 0xffffffff # incorrect maybe after spending a few hours debugging you suspect something is wrong with that -1, and do: (gdb) ptype function type = int () and maybe, just maybe, you realize that the function actually returns unsigned long long. And you try to fix it with: (gdb) p /x (unsigned long long) function () $3 = 0xffffffffffffffff # incorrect ... which still produces the wrong result, because GDB simply applied int to unsigned long long conversion. Meaning, it sign-extended the integer that it extracted from the return of the function, to 64-bits. and then maybe, after asking around on IRC, you realize you have to cast the function to a pointer of the right type, and call that. It won't be easy, but after a few missteps, you'll get to it: ..... (gdb) p /x ((unsigned long long(*) ()) function) () $666 = 0x7fffffffffffffff # finally! :-) So to improve on the user experience, this patch does the following (interrelated) things: - makes no-debug-info functions no longer default to "int" as return type. Instead, they're left with NULL/"<unknown return type>" return type. (gdb) ptype getenv type = <unknown return type> () - makes calling a function with unknown return type an error. (gdb) p getenv ("PATH") 'getenv' has unknown return type; cast the call to its declared return type - and then to make it easier to call the function, makes it possible to _only_ cast the return of the function to the right type, instead of having to cast the function to a function pointer: (gdb) p (char *) getenv ("PATH") # now Just Works $3 = 0x7fffffffe7d7 "/usr/local/bin:/"... (gdb) p ((char *(*) (const char *)) getenv) ("PATH") # continues working $4 = 0x7fffffffe7d7 "/usr/local/bin:/"... I.e., it makes GDB default the function's return type to the type of the cast, and the function's parameters to the type of the arguments passed down. After this patch, here's what you'll get for the "unsigned long long" example above: (gdb) p function () 'function' has unknown return type; cast the call to its declared return type (gdb) p /x (unsigned long long) function () $4 = 0x7fffffffffffffff # correct! Note that while with "print" GDB shows the name of the function that has the problem: (gdb) p getenv ("PATH") 'getenv' has unknown return type; cast the call to its declared return type which can by handy in more complicated expressions, "ptype" does not: (gdb) ptype getenv ("PATH") function has unknown return type; cast the call to its declared return type This will be fixed in the next patch. gdb/ChangeLog: 2017-09-04 Pedro Alves <palves@redhat.com> * ada-lang.c (ada_evaluate_subexp) <TYPE_CODE_FUNC>: Don't handle TYPE_GNU_IFUNC specially here. get_int_var_value
I noticed that get_int_var_value's parameters could use some constification. And then realized that client code would become simpler by changing the interface to return the success/failure indication as actual return value, as it allows getting rid of the local "boolean" variable. gdb/ChangeLog: 2017-07-20 Pedro Alves <palves@redhat.com> * ada-lang.c (ada_to_fixed_type_1): Adjust. Add casts to memory allocation related calls
Most allocation functions (if not all) return a void* pointing to the allocated memory. In C++, we need to add an explicit cast when assigning the result to a pointer to another type (which is the case more often than not). The content of this patch is taken from Pedro's branch, from commit "(mostly) auto-generated patch to insert casts needed for C++". I validated that the changes make sense and manually reflowed the code to make it respect the coding style. I also found multiple places where I could use XNEW/XNEWVEC/XRESIZEVEC/etc. Thanks a lot to whoever did that automated script to insert casts, doing it completely by hand would have taken a ridiculous amount of time. Only files built on x86 with --enable-targets=all are modified. This means that all other -nat.c files are untouched and will have to be dealt with later by using appropiate compilers. Or maybe we can try to build them with a regular g++ just to know where to add casts, I don't know. I built-tested this with --enable-targets=all and reg-tested. Here's the changelog entry, which was not too bad to make despite the size, thanks to David Malcom's script. I fixed some bits by hand, but there might be some wrong parts left (hopefully not). gdb/ChangeLog: * aarch64-linux-tdep.c (aarch64_stap_parse_special_token): Add cast to allocation result assignment. * ada-exp.y (write_object_renaming): Likewise. [Ada] Enhance type printing for arrays with variable-sized elements
This change is relevant only for standard DWARF (as opposed to the GNAT encodings extensions): at the time of writing it only makes a difference with GCC patches that are to be integrated: see the patch series submission at <https://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2015-07/msg01353.html>. Given the following Ada declarations: subtype Small_Int is Natural range 0 .. 100; type R_Type (L : Small_Int := 0) is record S : String (1 .. L); end record; type A_Type is array (Natural range <>) of R_Type; A : A_Type := (1 => (L => 0, S => ""), 2 => (L => 2, S => "ab")); Before this change, we would get the following GDB session: (gdb) ptype a type = array (1 .. 2) of foo.r_type <packed: 838-bit elements> This is wrong: "a" is not a packed array. This output comes from the fact that, because R_Type has a dynamic size (with a maximum), the compiler has to describe in the debugging information the size allocated for each array element (i.e. the stride, in DWARF parlance: see DW_AT_byte_stride). Ada type printing currently assumes that arrays with a stride are packed, hence the above output. In practice, GNAT never performs bit-packing for arrays that contain variable-sized elements. Leveraging this fact, this patch enhances type printing so that ptype does not pretend that arrays are packed when they have a stride and they contain dynamic elements. After this change, we get the following expected output: (gdb) ptype a type = array (1 .. 2) of foo.r_type gdb/ChangeLog: * ada-typeprint.c (print_array_type): Do not describe arrays as packed when they embed dynamic elements. gdb/testsuite/ChangeLog: * gdb.ada/array_of_variable_length.exp: New testcase. * gdb.ada/array_of_variable_length/foo.adb: New file. * gdb.ada/array_of_variable_length/pck.adb: New file. * gdb.ada/array_of_variable_length/pck.ads: New file. Tested on x86_64-linux, no regression. |

Split TRY_CATCH into TRY + CATCH
This patch splits the TRY_CATCH macro into three, so that we go from this: ~~~ volatile gdb_exception ex; TRY_CATCH (ex, RETURN_MASK_ERROR) { } if (ex.reason < 0) { } ~~~ to this: ~~~ TRY { } CATCH (ex, RETURN_MASK_ERROR) { } END_CATCH ~~~ Thus, we'll be getting rid of the local volatile exception object, and declaring the caught exception in the catch block. This allows reimplementing TRY/CATCH in terms of C++ exceptions when building in C++ mode, while still allowing to build GDB in C mode (using setjmp/longjmp), as a transition step. TBC, after this patch, is it _not_ valid to have code between the TRY and the CATCH blocks, like: TRY { } // some code here. CATCH (ex, RETURN_MASK_ERROR) { } END_CATCH Just like it isn't valid to do that with C++'s native try/catch. By switching to creating the exception object inside the CATCH block scope, we can get rid of all the explicitly allocated volatile exception objects all over the tree, and map the CATCH block more directly to C++'s catch blocks. The majority of the TRY_CATCH -> TRY+CATCH+END_CATCH conversion was done with a script, rerun from scratch at every rebase, no manual editing involved. After the mechanical conversion, a few places needed manual intervention, to fix preexisting cases where we were using the exception object outside of the TRY_CATCH block, and cases where we were using "else" after a 'if (ex.reason) < 0)' [a CATCH after this patch]. The result was folded into this patch so that GDB still builds at each incremental step. END_CATCH is necessary for two reasons: First, because we name the exception object in the CATCH block, which requires creating a scope, which in turn must be closed somewhere. Declaring the exception variable in the initializer field of a for block, like: #define CATCH(EXCEPTION, mask) \ for (struct gdb_exception EXCEPTION; \ exceptions_state_mc_catch (&EXCEPTION, MASK); \ EXCEPTION = exception_none) would avoid needing END_CATCH, but alas, in C mode, we build with C90, which doesn't allow mixed declarations and code. Second, because when TRY/CATCH are wired to real C++ try/catch, as long as we need to handle cleanup chains, even if there's no CATCH block that wants to catch the exception, we need for stop at every frame in the unwind chain and run cleanups, then rethrow. That will be done in END_CATCH. After we require C++, we'll still need TRY/CATCH/END_CATCH until cleanups are completely phased out -- TRY/CATCH in C++ mode will save/restore the current cleanup chain, like in C mode, and END_CATCH catches otherwise uncaugh exceptions, runs cleanups and rethrows, so that C++ cleanups and exceptions can coexist. IMO, this still makes the TRY/CATCH code look a bit more like a newcomer would expect, so IMO worth it even if we weren't considering C++. gdb/ChangeLog. 2015-03-07 Pedro Alves <palves@redhat.com> * common/common-exceptions.c (struct catcher) <exception>: No longer a pointer to volatile exception. Now an exception value. <mask>: Delete field. (exceptions_state_mc_init): Remove all parameters. Adjust. (exceptions_state_mc): No longer pop the catcher here. (exceptions_state_mc_catch): New function. (throw_exception): Adjust. * common/common-exceptions.h (exceptions_state_mc_init): Remove all parameters. (exceptions_state_mc_catch): Declare. (TRY_CATCH): Rename to ... (TRY): ... this. Remove EXCEPTION and MASK parameters. (CATCH, END_CATCH): New. All callers adjusted. gdb/gdbserver/ChangeLog: 2015-03-07 Pedro Alves <palves@redhat.com> Adjust all callers of TRY_CATCH to use TRY/CATCH/END_CATCH instead. |
