microblaze: drop/restrict override of .text, .data, and .bss
While only ELF is supported right now, (stub) code generally is in place for the non-ELF case as well. Don't override .bss for ELF - that's unlikely to be a good idea anyway and prevented the sub-section specifier from being usable. Don't override .text and .data at all - for .data and ELF for the same reason, while for .text and ELF obj-elf.c's is all we need, and for (hypothetical) non-ELF read.c's identical handling would have been invoked anyway. |

Update year range in copyright notice of binutils files
Adds two new external authors to etc/update-copyright.py to cover bfd/ax_tls.m4, and adds gprofng to dirs handled automatically, then updates copyright messages as follows: 1) Update cgen/utils.scm emitted copyrights. 2) Run "etc/update-copyright.py --this-year" with an extra external author I haven't committed, 'Kalray SA.', to cover gas testsuite files (which should have their copyright message removed). 3) Build with --enable-maintainer-mode --enable-cgen-maint=yes. 4) Check out */po/*.pot which we don't update frequently. |

No caller outside of obj-elf.c cares about the parameter - drop it by introducing an obj-elf.c-internal wrapper. While adding the new function parameter, take the opportunity and change the adjacent boolean one to "bool". |

opcodes: microblaze: Add new bit-field instructions
This patches adds new bsefi and bsifi instructions. BSEFI- The instruction shall extract a bit field from a register and place it right-adjusted in the destination register. The other bits in the destination register shall be set to zero. BSIFI- The instruction shall insert a right-adjusted bit field from a register at another position in the destination register. The rest of the bits in the destination register shall be unchanged. Further documentation of these instructions can be found here: https://docs.xilinx.com/v/u/en-US/ug984-vivado-microblaze-ref With version 6 of the patch, no new relocation types are added as this was unnecessary for adding the bsefi and bsifi instructions. FIXED: Segfault caused by incorrect termination of microblaze_opcodes. The result of running etc/update-copyright.py --this-year, fixing all the files whose mode is changed by the script, plus a build with --enable-maintainer-mode --enable-cgen-maint=yes, then checking out */po/*.pot which we don't update frequently. The copy of cgen was with commit d1dd5fcc38ead reverted as that commit breaks building of bfp opcodes files. |

Inserting with replacement is wrong for some gas hash table uses. This patch implements an htab_insert that conditionally replaces, and similarly for str_hash_insert. str_hash_insert with replace=0 is roughly equivalent to the older hash_insert, and str_hash_insert with replace=1 to the older hash_jam, but return values are different. I found it useful to know whether the slot was occupied prior to inserting/replacing. I've also reinstated the fatal errors on messing up opcode tables with duplicates. ELF: Add support for unique section ID to assembler
Clang's integrated assembler supports multiple section with the same name: .section .text,"ax",@progbits,unique,1 nop .section .text,"ax",@progbits,unique,2 nop "unique,N" assigns the number, N, as the section ID, to a section. The valid values of the section ID are between 0 and 4294967295. It can be used to distinguish different sections with the same section name. This is useful with -fno-unique-section-names -ffunction-sections. -ffunction-sections by default generates .text.foo, .text.bar, etc. Using the same string can save lots of space in .strtab. This patch adds section_id to bfd_section and reuses the linker internal bit in BFD section flags, SEC_LINKER_CREATED, for assmebler internal use to mark valid section_id. This large patch removes the unnecessary bfd parameter from various bfd section macros and functions. The bfd is hardly ever used and if needed for the bfd_set_section_* or bfd_rename_section functions can be found via section->owner except for the com, und, abs, and ind std_section special sections. Those sections shouldn't be modified anyway. The patch also removes various bfd_get_section_<field> macros, replacing their use with bfd_section_<field>, and adds bfd_set_section_lma. I've also fixed a minor bug in gas where compressed section renaming was done directly rather than calling bfd_rename_section. Support ELF SHF_GNU_MBIND and PT_GNU_MBIND_XXX
Mark an ALLOC section, which should be placed in special memory area,
with SHF_GNU_MBIND. Its sh_info field indicates the special memory
type. GNU_MBIND section names start with ".mbind" so that they are
placed as orphan sections by linker. All input GNU_MBIND sections
with the same sh_type, sh_flags and sh_info are placed in one output
GNU_MBIND section. In executable and shared object, create a
GNU_MBIND segment for each GNU_MBIND section and its segment type is
PT_GNU_MBIND_LO plus the sh_info value. Each GNU_MBIND segment is
aligned at page boundary.

make md_parse_option () take a const char *
This is mostly just adding const in many places, however there are a couple interesting things. We need to add casts in tc-s390.c and tc-cris.c because they have functions that assign to input_line_pointer an argument that sometimes comes from md_parse_option. Presumably this is safe because those targets never pass literals to md_parse_option (), but this code should probably be improved in the future. make microblaze build with -Wwrite-strings
frag_var () assigns its last argument to frag::fr_opcode, and it turns out some targets modify the string that points to. However it appears niether the generic code or the microblaze code modifies what fr_opcode points to, so this code should be safe. gas TC_PARSE_CONS_EXPRESSION communication with TC_CONS_FIX_NEW
A number of targets pass extra information from TC_PARSE_CONS_EXPRESSION to TC_CONS_FIX_NEW via static variables. That's OK, but not best practice. tc-ppc.c goes further in implementing its own replacement for cons(), because the generic one doesn't allow relocation modifiers on constants.
